Privacy Policy

This policy covers Flowphonic, an Android app developed by Sleeping Giant Marketing Services Private Limited (“Flowphonic,” “we”). It explains what the app does with your recordings, your voice, and any other data, in plain terms.

The short version: Flowphonic doesn't have a server. There's no account, no sign-in, and no cloud backup. Everything you record stays encrypted on your own device until you choose to share or export it. The one exception is speech-to-text: if no on-device language model is installed, transcription falls back to your Android system's own cloud recognizer, which is Google's, not ours — see “Speech-to-text” below.

What Flowphonic stores

Recordings, markers, transcripts, and session details (titles, scene/take numbers, timestamps) are saved only in the app's local storage on your device, encrypted at rest. We don't operate a server, so we never receive, see, or store this data ourselves. Uninstalling the app deletes it, since there's nowhere else it exists.

Microphone access

Flowphonic uses your microphone only while you're actively recording a take. A persistent notification (and a foreground service) keeps recording running reliably while the app is in the background or the screen is off — it doesn't send anything anywhere.

Speech-to-text

Flowphonic transcribes recordings using Android's built-in speech recognition. When an on-device language model is installed and selected, recognition happens entirely on your device. When it isn't, Android falls back to a network-based recognizer provided by Google, and the audio for that specific recognition request is sent to Google's servers under Google's own privacy policy — Flowphonic doesn't operate, receive, or store a copy of that data itself.

Sharing and exporting

Exporting a recording, transcript, or marker file hands it to Android's own share sheet — the same one every app uses. You choose the destination (email, a messaging app, cloud storage) each time. Flowphonic never sends your files anywhere on its own.

What we don't collect

No account or sign-in, so no name, email, or password of yours is stored by us.
No analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting SDKs.
No location, contacts, or camera access.
No sale or sharing of data, because we don't collect any to sell or share.

Permissions Flowphonic asks for

Microphone — to record audio.
Notifications — for the recording-in-progress notice and its controls.
Foreground service (microphone/media playback) — keeps a take recording, or a review playing, reliably while the app is backgrounded.
Storage (older Android versions only) — to save and open your recordings and exports.
Vibration — for tactile feedback on buttons.
Internet — used only for the cloud speech-recognition fallback described above.

Your recordings, your control

You can delete any session, marker, or transcript from within the app at any time. Because nothing is backed up elsewhere, deleting it in the app deletes it entirely — export anything you want to keep before you do.

Children's privacy

Flowphonic isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from them. Since the app doesn't collect personal data on a server in the first place, there's nothing for us to hold on anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use Flowphonic after a change means you accept the update.
